LISTEN NOW!

"What makes the lumberyard work is the pacing, and the readers themselves. Polished performers presenting short pieces in a straightforward manner. Each one grabs you in its own way. The music pieces have the same energy, and really work in context. I urge you to give it a listen."

-John Dankosky, WNPR

the lumberyard is a weekly, half-hour radio magazine of poetry, prose and music,
edited and produced at the University of Connecticut. Listen to the lumberyard every
Tuesday at 5pm on WHUS 91.7 FM.

There are three ways to listen: 1) radio broadcast at 91.7 FM in Connecticut, 2) live streaming
audio at www.whus.org , 3) podcast or direct download on your own time at
http://thelumberyardjournal .libsyn.com/.

Our goal is to broadcast literature that people want to listen to. Along the way, we are making
an audio archive of upcoming and established contemporary writers, and continuing the oral
traditions of storytelling and poetry.

We are interested in radio-friendly prose and poetry under five minutes read aloud. We also
accept music submissions. Please inquire before submitting.
